Nuclear Magnetic Relaxation in Nearly and Weakly Antiferromagnetic βMn Metal and Alloy

Nuclear spin lattice relaxation time T. of Mn" in /7Mn metal and alloy withl % Ge has been measured in a temperature range from 1.2 to 300 K. In puremetal the total relaxation rate is separated into the parts due to electron spin-nuclear spin interaction, 35.3v'7'sec=' and d orbit-nuclear spin interaction,1.77'sec-'. The alloy with I.0% Ge shows antiferromagnetism with 7'N=6 K.The temperature dependence of T. in the alloy is compared with the theoreticallyexpected one. Except near T. the observed dependence is in good agreement withthe theory. The concentration dependence of T. has been obtained from tl)e peakin 1/7'. vs 7plot.
