Nuclear Magnetic Relaxation in Ferromagnetic PdCo and Antiferromagnetic CrVCo and CrMoCo

The nuclear magnetic relaxation .of "Co in dilute Cr. .V,Co (x $0.05) andCr. -.Mo.Co (x $0.25) alloys in the ordered state was investigated. T. is proportionalto 1 /Tin the region of T< T .. IT. T decreases rapidly with the decrease of the orderingtemperature associated with the increase of x. This decrease of T T with the decrease ofthe ordering temperature is generally observed in randomly ordered systems in metalsirrespective of the ferro and antiferromagnet. Apprc>ximate model calculations basedon the Weger mechanism, where the nuclear Zeerrtan energy relaxes to the kineticenergy of the conduction electrons via the virtual excitation of the spin waves, havebeen carried out in PdCo, whose T. was already mertsured, and in CrVCo alloys. Theexperimental results are explained qualitatively well by the Weger mechanism.
