Crossover of Spin Correlations in the One-Dimensional Hubbard Model

The crossover of the spin correlation function from a non-half-filled to a half-filledband is investigated for the one-dimensional Hubbard model in the ground state. Forthe on-site interaction &-+cC, it has 1.he form at distaxace r,1<.5(0).5(r)>cc - exp ---; (In (dry-ci C2nl>r) -cos (2nlr) -2nl;z'si C2xir))where i is the doping concentration away from half-filling. This form determines thecrossover from the asymptotic behavior - ] / r"' away from half-filling to - 1 / r athalf-filling. At finite U, Monte Carlo res;ults show that the peak of the equal-time spinstructure factor S (Q) scales as S ((J)cc -In c5 leading to the same type of crossover.
