A high intensity pulse light source from a high density plasma in a slidingsr>ark with an electron beam is useful in the vacuum ultraviolet (vuv) and softX-ray regions. Its spectra in the 100-500 A region are shown and line profilesare compared with numerical results calculated from the local thermodynamicequilibrium (L.T.E.) plasma model.
