Application of the Dynamical Correlated-Effective-Field Approximation to the Triangular Spin Structure of the Singlet-Ground-State Hexagonal Antiferromagnets

Magnetic properties of the triangular spin (TS) structure of hexagonal antifer-romagnets with singlet-ground-state (SGS) character are studied on the basis ofthe dynamical correlated-effective-field approximation (DCEFA). How the SGScharacter is reflected in the magnetic excitation is investigated particularly indetail. In contrast with the usual spin wave theory which gives only one branchof the magnetic excitation the DCEFA predicts two branches, both of which areobservable by inelastic neutron scattering measurements in case of strong SGScharacter, The magnetic excitations observed by Petitgrand et al. in the orderedstate of RbFeCl. are shown to be well understood within the TS structure modelby using the DCEFA.
