Constitutive equation for the netnatic liquid crystals under weak velocitygradient is derived from the kinetic equation presented by Doi. The constitutiveequation is consistent with the phenomenological equation proposed by Ericksenand Leslie. The six viscosity parameters (Leslie coefficients) appearing in thephenomenological theory are expressed by the molecular parameters.
