Recent experimc:nts of Shimada have shown that under a constant magnetic field, acolloidal suspension of magnetic particles exhi[cits a magnetic relaxation whichdepends on the viscosity of the solvent even if the reorientation of the magneticmoment in each particle is considered to take place very fast. This phenomena is explained using the assumption that the particles form a chain-like cluster. It is shownthat even if the reorientation process of the magnetic moment is very fast, the dipoledipole interaction between the particles causes a relaxation process which depends onthe solvent viscosity.[ferrofluid, magnetic susceptibility, bias field, nonlinear relaxation, cluster l] model, dipole-dipole interactionl
