The spectrum and the quantum yield of the Is free exciton luminescence inalkali iodides have been studied as a function of temperature. These results arestrongly dependent on the samples used, On the basis of these results the intrinsicnature of the ltuninescence process and the self-trapping process of the Is freeexcitons has been studied.
