Spin Dynamics in Heusler Alloys X_2MnY (X=Ni,Cu,Pd,Y=Al,Sn)

概要

The Stoner excitation spectrum in the ferromagnetic Heusler alloys X.MnY(X=Ni, Cu, Pd, Y=Al, Sn) is evaluated on the basis of the realistic band struc-lure obtained by T.B.-OPW method. The acoustical spin wave excitation inX.MnY is investigated by relating that to the Stoner excitation. It is remarkedthat, in the spin wave excitation in Cu.MnAl, the relative contributions from thefive d-states of Mn are almost same in contrast to the case of Pd.MnSn in whichthe contribution from the d7-state of Mn is dominantly important. The situationin Ni.MnSn is nearly intermediate between those of Cu.MnAl and Pd.MnSn.It is shown that the Stoner excitation spectrum in Cu.MnAl rapidly varies withincreasing wave vector q compared with the cases of Ni.MnSn and Pd,MnSn.It is indicated that the nearest neighbor exchange interaction in X=Cu is par-ticularly large compared with that in the other X-atoms in good correspondencewith the result obtained by Ishikawa et at.
