Expressions for the dynamical dielectric function and dynamical paramagneticspin susceptibility of the electron gas at metallic densities are derived by applyingthe approximation of Schneider et al. for the decoupling of the classical two-bodydistribution function to the previous theory of I-Iasegawa and Shimizu, whereWigtxer's quantum distribution function was used. By means of the fluctuation-dissipation theoremj the self-consistent equations for the dielectric function anddynamical susceptibility are obtained. The numerical results of the pair correlationfunction, the correlation energy, .the structure factor, the compressibility andthe spin susceptibility are shown and arc compared with the previous results.It is shown that the compressibility 'sum rule is almost exactly satisfied at allmetallic densities.
