The high-field spin susceptibility for ferromagnetic metals is calculated by amethod, which is free from the variation method. The method is applied to thenumerical calculation of the high-field spin susceptibility for ferromagnetic bcc ironat T=O K by using the density functional formalism. The band structure used in thenumerical calculation is obtained by the linear muffin-tin orbital method and by thelocal spin density approximation. The calculated value of the high-field spin suscep-tibility is smaller than the experimental one. This fact indicates the necessity to improve the local spin density approximation.
