Magnetic Properties of Ni-Pd, Ni-Pt and Pd-Pt Alloys

The average density of states and the local density of states for the paranaagneticand ferromagnetic Ni-Pd, Ni-Pt and Pd-Pt alloys are calculated by the coherentpotential approxinaation by taking account of an off-diagonal randomness. TheHubbard naodel' is assuxaaed and the Hartree-Fock approximation is used. It isfound that the band-width of these alloys changes nearly linearly with concentra.tion. The peak of the density of states near the Fernai level remains without largedistortion bv allot'inn and that of the local densit>z of states is simi?ar to t?at oreach pure metal. The bulk and local magnetic monaents, paramagnetic spinsusceptibility and low tenaperature specific heat coefficient are calculated. Theseresults are conapared with experiments and qualitative agreements are obtauned.
