Hyperfine Structure and Isotope Shift in Er I by the Atomic-Beam Laser Spectroscopy

Isotope shifts of 5 transitions from the 'H. and 'f. levels of the ground configura4 j 12(, 2 ' Efbftnon s 111 r I were measured or the sta le usotopes wuth A = 162- 170 by theatomic-beam laser spectroscopy. llyperfine constants A and B of 7 atomic levels weredetermined. Changes of mean square nuclear charge radii J'<.r') and mean squarenuclear deformation parameters (>< 73') were deduced. The deformations of "' "'Erwere found to be mainly quadrupole and contributions of higher order deformationparameters for "'Er were estimated. ,Z-dependence of isotope shifts in the (6, 1) termof 4f"6s6p was found.
