In order to discuss the line shape of spin wave sidebands, it is necessary to consider the effect of the change in the exchange integral accompanying the electronic excitation, or the exciton-magnon interaction. A general formula is derived to take this effect into account and to calculate the line shape within the spin wave approximation. The result suggests the line shape may be approximately given by the Green's function of the impurity spin problem. Green's function is calculated for MnF_2 and the spin wave sidebands of ^6A_1⟶^4T_1 are discussed within this approximation. The result is in reasonable agreement with the observation. Modification of the results due to the terms linear in the spin wave operators and temperature dependence is also studied.
