Hasimoto's theory of vortex motion is extended to include dissipative effects. As an example, a collapsing process of clusters is investigated in a two-dimensional system undergoing a first-order phase transition. Second, the vortex motion is studied when the line velocity has a component along the normal as well as along the binormal. A special exact solution is obtained, which describes the time-development of a bend emerging after line-line crossings. Equations are also set up for the case with macroscopic flow. But they can be analyzed only for some simple situations at present.
