ft values of the β decay for forbidden transitions are classified according to the experimental spectra. They are found to fall into distinct groups, if the correct formula for the forbidden probabilities of Fermi theory worked out by Nakamura, Shima and Kobayasi are adopted. The possible selection rules, and the conditions for the uniqueness of the matrix elements adopted, are also discussed. From the results, interaction types of the Fermi theory coould be limited to some extent.
