Charge and Orbital Order Patterns in an A-Site Ordered Perovskite-Type Manganite SmBaMn2O6 Determined by Convergent-Beam Electron Diffraction

Charge and orbital ordered (COO) phases of an A-site ordered perovskite-type manganite SmBaMn2O6 have been investigated using convergent-beam electron diffraction. The space groups of the room-temperature and low-temperature COO phases are revealed to be Pnam and P2_{1}am, respectively. Based on the space groups, the COO patterns are unambiguously determined. The noncentrosymmetric space group of the low-temperature phase emerging with the re-arrangement of charge and orbitals are revealed.
