Design of Reflecting Mirrors for Electron Cyclotron Wave Launching System in GAMMA 10

Profile-tailoring mirrors have been designed using a newly developed electromagnetic code for a high-power plug electron heating system in the GAMMA 10 tandem mirror. An axisymmetric Gaussian-like radiation profile on the resonance surface was realized with the designed mirrors; this profile is confirmed by a low-power measurement in the atmosphere. With the new heating system, a new record of 2.1 kV for the ion-confining potential has been attained.
