The direction of spontaneous polarization in lithium trihydrogen selenite single crystal has been studied using sample plates, which are parallel to the $b$-axis, cut in different orientations with respect to the $a$-axis. Ferroelectric hysteresis loop measurements show that the spontaneous polarization is perpendicular to the $a$-axis with a value of 13 μC/cm2 and a coercive field of 1100 V/cm at room temperature. No Curie temperature has been observed from the temperature dependence of the spontaneous polarization from $-100$°C up to the melting point. The effect of temperature on the characteristic of the spontaneous polarization at different orientations has also been investigated.
