From the reaction of (2-aminoethanethiolato)bis(ethylenediamine)cobalt(III)(2+) complex with α,ω-dibromoalkanes Br(CH<SUB>2</SUB>)<I><SUB>n</SUB></I>Br, a series of novel monobridged dinuclear cobalt(III) complexes [(en)<SUB>2</SUB>Co{NH<SUB>2</SUB>(CH<SUB>2</SUB>)<SUB>2</SUB>S(CH<SUB>2</SUB>)<I><SUB>n</SUB></I>S(CH<SUB>2</SUB>)<SUB>2</SUB>NH<SUB>2</SUB>}Co(en)<SUB>2</SUB>]<SUP>6+</SUP> (<I>n</I>=1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, and 10) were prepared and characterized on the basis of their absorption, circular dichroism, and infrared spectra and elemental analyses. In the case of <I>n</I>=2, two geometrical isomers, <I>meso</I> and <I>rac</I>, were isolated and identified.
