Clinical effects of Metharmon-F in middle-aged females with abnormal sensation in the pharyngolaryngeal region.

The clinical effects of Metharmon®-F were evaluated in 33 females aged 30 to 60 years with abnormal sensation in the phayngolaryngeal region.One tablet of Metharmon®-F was given orally for over 4 weeks at a dose of 3 tablets/day.The clinical efficacy was judged by the clinician to be excellent or good in 42.4% of the patients. The therapeutic effects appeared after 1 or 2 weeks of administra-tion, and increased thereafter subsequently. The agent was effective for pharyngolaryngeal complaints and other nervous complaints. The effects appeared to be reduced in the patients who had a neuroasthenic tendency. In one patient, retrosternal discomfort occurred on the 24th day of administration, but it improved rapidly after cessation of treatment. No abnormal laboratory findings were noted after the administration.
