The transfer of the pectoralis major muscle have been performed for treating the patients with loose shoulder since 1976.The purpose of this study is to understand the function of the transferred muscle and its effect to the movement of the scapula after the operation.The electric goniometers were used to measure the movement of the shoulder joint, and six pairs of 70μ wire electrodes were inserted into the pectoralis major muscle and the other shoulder girdle muscles simultaneously to examine the muscle activities The angle of the joint during the motion and the integration of the muscles action potentials were recorded on the TEAC data recorder, then plotted on the X-Yrecorder to analyse the function of the muscles and movement of the scapula.The action potentials of the transferred pectoralis major muscle are more existing than the other side's.The abducted motion of the scapula occurred in the earlier phase during arm abduction after surgery.
