Five cases of deformity and non-union of the lower extremities were teated ty the Ilizarov method from July, 1993 to December, 1993 in Kyusyu Rousai Hospital.In two of these cases some compli cations occurrsd. In one case, the rods of the Ilizarov external ficator curved and the patient's contracted. In the other case, the patient's skin was cut by the Kwire and his knee joint contracted.In the future, it is improtant that we develop new and improved methods to prevent such complications from occurring.
