Laminin, a component of basement membrane, was chemicaly characterized and employed to Radioimmunoassay by Timple et al. A kit system was developed and used in this study. The concentrations in the sera of patients with acute hepatitis, chronic hepatitis, liver cirrhosis, alcoholic liver disease, and primary liver cancer were higher than that of healthy controls, but no difference was found within the above liver diseases for clinical differenciation.<BR>High correlation was proved between Laminin and Aminoterminal peptide of type III procollagen in acute hepatitis and liver cirrhosis, but low that in primary liver cancer. In alcoholic liver disease γ-GTP and N-acetyl-β-Glycosamidase showed high correlation with Laminin.
