Effects of Bacterial and Virus Infection on Iridoid Glycoside Contents in Rehmannia glutinosa LIBOSCH. var. purpurea MAKINO

Quantitative analysis of iridoid glycosides of Rehmannia glutinosa LIBOSCH. var. purpurea MAKINO was conducted by HPLC. A combination of two kinds of columns and a gradient solvent system gave quantitative recoveries of iridoid glycosides, and seven iridoid glycosides were clearly separated by this method. Variations in the iridoid glycoside contents were observed between the healthy plants and those infected with bacteria or virus.
