The present study was carried out to elucidate an antiinflammatory effect of the glycyrrhizin topically applied to the cotton pellet granuloma pouch method in rats. Glycyrrhizin and indomethacin showed dose-dependent inhibition of the cotton pellet-induced granuloma formation. Glycyrrhizin topically applied to the cotton pellet showed an antiinflammatory effect induced by the cotton pellet,
