• The examination was performed by the author with the same method as described in the previous paper. The solutions used for this purpose were 0.2N solutions of muriatic metal, muriatic alkali earth metal and kalium salts, and 0.2 Mol of grape sugar, buffer solution and distilled water at 0℃. The results obtained were as follows: 1) The rate of swelling of the skin was lower three weeks after the extirpation than before the extirpation, but it become higher six weeks after the extirpation than before the extirpation, though it was inconstant. This inconstancy was plainly caused by the activity of the hydrogen ions of the solutions; the rate of swelling was sometimes nearly the same and sometimes even lower than that seen before the extirpation. 2) The curves of swelling of the skin agreed mostly with types No. II and No. III. It was sometimes hard, however, to decide to which type the curves belonged. The author, therefore, called such a type No. II and No. III (II III) for convenience. The curves obtained with the muriatic alkali metal, muriatic alkali earth metal and kalium salts solutions, and most of buffer solutions, agreed with one of these three. The No. I type was obtained with distilled water and sometimes with pH10 solution, and the No. IV' type with grape sugar solution. The curves of swelling of the skin examined were not much influenced by the extirpation of the testicles except for the higher activity of the hydrogen ions of the solutions. 3) The promotive effect on the swelling of various kinds and various concentrations, did not seem to be much influnced by the extirpation of the testicles.
