Metabolic syndrome in recent years has become a major concern to health. Many of the youth have fallen victim of these syndrome or related consequences particularly due to their eating habits and less exercise. The consequences of the syndrome have led to an ailment termed as the lifestyle disease. Self-organizing maps (SOM) can be viewed as a visualization tool that performs a sort of compromise between a high-dimensional dataset and a two-dimensional plane. This paper gives a focus on the trends taken by the syndrome using SOM. Also using the SOM results, efforts have been made to inter-relate various risk factors as well as predict examinee's syndrome projection in view of helping the examinee understand his/her fate.
