The magnetic transition of nickel ferrite was investigated by measuring the magnetic property and electrical conductivity at low temperature. From the results of these measurements, existence of the transition of nickel ferrite in the range of ca. -100° to -200° was confirmed. It was noticed that the present transition had two remarkable different characteristics as compared to the case of magnetite ; the one was a large temperature range of the transition, and the other was the disappearence of the magnetic anomaly at comparatively low magnetic field. Moreover, the problem of applying Verwey model to the present transition was discussed.
