Iron carbonyl was produced from several materials and the reducing condition of the materials, the suitable temperature and pressure for synthesis are determined by some experiments. The cost for production is not so much, because scraps from other plants can be used as the material and CO gas produced by the decomposition of Fe(CO)_5 is reduced for synthesis. From these results, the industrializing of this method can be successfully undertaken. On the decomposition of iron carbonyl, we will report in the next paper before long. The present research has been carried out with the co-operating of S. Kikuta, A. Takasaki, K. Inagaki and Y. Oishi, Tohoku. University and Z. Hara, S. Ono, T. Shiga, I. Nakamura and K. Tasaka, Tokyo University ; and with guidance of' Dr. S. Shimura. We have no words to express our gratefulness for all above co-operations.
