Sub-MHz Doppler-Free Spectral Line of 5^1S_0-5^3P_1 Intercombination Transition in Strontium

The saturated absorption resonance of an intercombination transition of ^<88>Sr (λ=689 nm) has been observed using a carefully designed external cavity laser diode and gas cell without buffer gas. A minimum linewidth of 0.7±0.1 MHz has been obtained. The comparison between Sr and Ca reference lines was performed for laser frequency stabilization.
