A least-squares method for locating a linear object by using its multiple parallel projections is proposed and a procedure is developed for obtaining the multi-segments approximation of a curved linear object. Then the procedure is applied to analytical photogrammetry for dislocations. The results of experiments performed on dislocations in an ice crystal show that the present method is useful for the accurate locating of curved objects.
