The effects of Na application on growth and nitrate reductase activity of seven C_4 plant species, Zea mays, Echinochloa crus-galli, Panicum miliaceum, Panicum coloratum, Panicum dichotomiflorum, Panicum maximum and Chloris gayana were studied. Except for Z. mays and P. miliaceum, Na application enhanced growth significantly, and concurrent increases in nitrate reductase activities were detected in Panicum coloratum. Panicum dichotomiflorum. Panicum maximum and Chloris gayana.
