This survey showed that the numbers of Japanese BF articles was around 860 and 28 % as compaired to those of global publications in the same period (1970-1987). The journals which cited BF articles were 152 and 18 Journals cited more than 5 articles. The annual activities of BF study increased markedly up to 70 to 90 articles since 1978 and had two peaks. The order of popularity was EMG-, HR-, EEG-, GSR.&.SPL- and respiratory BFT. The most popular category has changed from HR-BFT to EMG-BFT since 1978. This symbolized a maturation of BF study and clinical application became prevalent. Hatch's apprehension was not ascertained whether the activity of BF study was in declining stage last couple of years. Although Japanese BF study declined in 1987, it was not definite whether this was very transient or not.
