Self-control of borborygmus due to hyperperistalsis was examined with a package of relaxation method and biofeedback technique using a sthetoscope. Among 19 subjects, l4(73%) reported that their borborygmus became l9ss with either of these interventions. In regards to each symptom, subjects reported that gurren was better in 11(p<0.05), abdominal pain in 9(p<0.05), diarrhea in 9(N.S.). Eleven subjects showed good prognosis and 3 subjects relapsed again in 2 weeks. It is suggested that through combination of relaxation techniques and biofeedback control of borborygmus, self-control of intestinal hyperfunction will be available more effectively in clinical basis.
