In the preceding paper, we reported on the effects of various nitrogen sources upon amylase and protease production by B. moriguchiensis. In this report the experiments on the effects of combination of some different nitrogen sources upon amylase production are described.1) On amylase production it gave most superior results, when 0.2% nitrogen sources (as total-N) and 3〜5% soluble starch as carbon source were added to the basal medium employed by us.2) Amylase-producing activity increased, when (NH_4)_2 HPO_4 and asparagine were added in an equal quantity to the basal medium, but it decreased by the addition of (NH_4)_2HPO_4 to peptone or defatted soy bean extract.3) When 0.07% asparagine (as amino-N) was added to the medium containing 0.2% defatted soy bean extract (as total-N), the amylase-producing activity increased 1.5 times as much as that in the case of using defatted soy bean extract alone.
