Kinetic study was made on the cultivation of an n-paraffin-assimilating bacterium, Achromobacter nucleoacidives nov. sp., for the production of ribonucleic acids. Kinetic theory of the productivity of a fermentation product was developed based on the fermentation kinetics which we reported previously. The productivities of ribonucleic acids in semicontinuous, single-stage continuous, and multistage continuous cultivation were estimated using the fermentation characteristic values obtained from batch cultivation. From the theoretical estimation and the experimental results, single stage continuous cultivation operated at a critical cell concentration was determined to be the most suitable cultivation method for the production of ribonucleic acids.
