The thermal conductivity of high temperature gases has been determined in the temperature range where development of high-temperature gas turbines and MHD generators in going on. In order to obtain a consistent set of data over a very wide range of temperature, an optimum combination of three methods has been intended. Namely, the selection of experimental data through critical evaluation at moderate temperatures, measurements by the shock tube method at high temperatures and a theoretical interpolation at intermediate temperatures. The thermal conductivity of the Ar-N_2 and the N_2-O_2 mixtures has been determined in the temperature range from room temperature to 4340 K and to 3200 K, respectively.
