A total number of the taxon of the algal flora of Tateyama Bay are 249, belonging to 129 genera and 60 families, of which 37 species, 15 genera and 11 families to Chlorophyceae, 58 species, 30 genera and 16 families to Phaeophyceae, 154 species, 84 genera and 33 families to Rhodophyceae. Three genera and 5 species to seagrass (Halophila ovalis, Phyllospadix japonicus, Zostera caulescens, Z. marina, Z. japonica) are reported, too. The algal flora is composed of temperate species, which contain several species in subtropical southern Japan, A sparagopsis taxiformis, Martensia denticulata, Caulerpa brachypus, Distromium decumbens, etc. Twelve taxa, the type locality of which is Tateyama Bay, are given.
