Burners turbulence is investisated usinn the modified zero-fourth cumulantar>rroximation which was emr>lo>'ed bar Tatsumi et at. (J. Fluid vech. 85 (1978)97)" for incomrressible isotror>ic turbulence. The d>'namical eczuation for the ener.s'x sr>ectrum due to this ar>r>roximation is solved numericall>r for two tvnical initialconditions. The enersv sr>ectrum is shown to satisf>r each similarit>r law in t?eenernv-containinm and the eners>'-dissir>ation ranses respectively. The spectrumassumes the k-" form, k beins the wavenumber, at wavenumbers Just bevond theenerm>'-contajninm ranse and the CXP ( -ok) form, o beins a constant, in thefar-dissipation range. Statistical quantities such as the energy, the skewness ofthe velocity derivative, th; microscale and the microscale Reynolds number arederived from the data of the energy spectrum. Comparative discussions are madewith the results due to shock dynamics and numerical experiments.
