The nonlinear evolution of the disturbance in a natural convection inducedin a fluid layer between two parallel vertical walls kept at different temperaturesis investigated on the basis of the weakly nonlinear theory. The theory is used inan improved form for the evaluation of the coefficients in the evolution equationof disturbance. The amplitude of disturbance and the heat transfer across the fluidlayer are determined in a super-critical and equilibritun condition. It is foundthat the curve of the mean Nusselt number N versus the Grashof number G hasa small hump at the critical Grashof number G., and that the estimation of N sofar established is reasonable only in a narrow range of G close to G..
