The effects of uniform parallel magnetic field upon the stability of a free boundary layer of an incompressible, Electrically conducting fluid with small magnetic Prandtl number γ are investigated for flows of large Reynolds number R. The condition for stabilizing the disturbance with the wave-number α is obtained as a relationship between N(=γRA^2, A: the Alfven number), αR and γ.
