Fermi Surface Properties in CeCo_2

We have succeeded in oberving the de Haas-van Alphen (dHvA) effect in the mixed valentsuperconductor CeCor. The detected dHvA freqtrencies range from 6.24 x 10' Oe to 8.77 x 10" Oe.The largest frequency branch shows almost no angular dependence, indicating a nearly sphericalFermi strrface, The cyclotron efl'ective masses are found to be highly enhanced conupared to thefree-electron mass rno, ranging from 0.97 mo to 10.9 rno. The magnetoresistance measurementsgives an evidence that the Fermi surface sheets are all closed without any open orbits. Bandstructure calculation based on a relativistic linear augmented-plane-wave (RLAPW) method,assurnung the 'if electrons as itinerant, is in reasonably good agreenaent with the experimentaldHvA results.
