An trltraslow relaxational naode xvith a relaxation time T : 5 x 8 psec is discovered for thefirst tirne near the phase transition ternperattnre T. : 48.5'C in uniaxial ferroelectric triglycinesttlfate (NH2CH2COOH)3-H2SO.4 trsing time-resolved spectroscopy. The physical origin of themode is assigned to be thertnal relaxation, becatrse dominant anisotropic anomalous behaviorcan be observed in the Bragg-diffracted ta'xode intensity at tirne origin I (O) and can be wellexplained by the anisotropic axnoznaly of the tlnerrnal expansion coefficient a and the anonualyof the specific heat at constant stress C)-. The thermal difl'usivity Dj7, evaltrated from r alsoshows the anisotropic anounalotrs behavior. This behavior is successf'tully interpreted by theanisotropic polarization fltuctuation characteristic of the strtrctural phase transitions of' uniaxialferroelectrics.
