Detailed Investigation of the Magnetization of an Amorphous Ferromagnet Fe_<83>B_<17>

• We have carried out precise measurements of the magnetization on an amorphousmetallic ferromagnet Fe..B.. from 4.2 K to 340 K in a high field of 5.03 T. Detailedanalysis of the observed data shows that the magnetization does not obey a simplespin wave T"' law but follows a sum of the renormalized spin wave term and theStoner-type contribution varying as T' rather than e """. The spin wave stiffnessconstant is expressed as D=D.(I -D.T"') with D.= 12085 meVA' and 71).=(2.0f0.5) XIO 'K "', which is roughly consistent with that determined directly fromneutron scattering. This suggests no existence of the well-known anomaly of the spinwave stiffness constant reported in earlier measurements. We discuss behavior of themagnetization at finite temperatures in terms of the local magnetic moment.
