Mossbauer Study of the Perovskite Compound RbFeF_3: Magnetic Structure in the Phase below 39 K and Temperature Dependence of Hyperfine Parameters below the Neel Temperature

The M6ssbauer spectroscopy IS applied t0 the PCCOVSkite compound RbFeF..It is concluded that in the rhase realized below 7'1 (39 K) the srontaneous manne-tization originates in a canting of the spins, i.e. the spins are almost along apseudo-cubic [011] axis but cant by about 6' from the [011] axis, yielding spon-taneous magnetization along a pseudo-cubic [0114 axis. The temperature depend-ence of the M6ssbauer parameters obtained for the three temperature regionsbelow 7'N (101 K), T. (87 K)<7'<7'., Tg<TNT., T<T., is given.
