Static and dynamic Properties of the Vortices in Single Crystalline CeRu_2

Elastic constants of CeRtrn have been uneasttred as f'unctions of tetnperattmre ttnd magtaetic field.The tilt elastic strain couples strongly xvith tlae vortices. Tlae elastic ?rnounaly Ac dtte to thevortices is xvell described by the forrnvrla Ac O (B'/47T)COS'N/(If A'A:'), where 0 is the anglebetween the propagation of the transverse sotrnd with the wave raurnber k and the nuagr'netic fluxdensity B. By trsing this formula, we got the ntrznber of the pinned vortices atnd the coefficientA as functions of teunperature and tnagnetic field. The vortex state can be classified into threeregions with respect of the fraction of the pinned vortices; flttx-flow, strong pinning and xveakpinning. The strong vortex pinning is associated with the tetragonal deforunatioza of tlue latticein the magnetic field catrsed by the soft (cj) - cjz)/2 of CeRtrz, whicl'x is dtne to l'uigh density ofstates in tlae Brillotrin zone.
