New Saturated Ferromagnetism in the Flat-Band Hubbard Model in High Electron Filling

We investigate the magnetization of the ground state of the one-dimensional flat-band Hubbardmodel as a function of the electron filling, tmsing exact diagonalization techniqtnes. Our calculationshows that the systenas with odd n holes added to half-filling bands for a sufficiently large U(the on-site Cotrlomb reptrlsion energy) have a sattrrated ferrotnagnetic ground state, which isnondegenerate except for the trivial spin degeneracy. Dependences of the critical value of U onthe size and on A (a pararneter of the system) are also investigated. For all values of A, it is fotrndthat the ground state is a saturated f'erromagnetic state if U is stmfTiciently large. Moreover, wefind that the critical U for' the satttrated ferrornagnetic ground state is alrnost independent onthe system size, at least, for the systena near qtrarter-filling. These facts indicate that even if thesystem size go to infinity, the ferrornagnetic ground state can be exist for a finite U.
