The Ground State and Thermodynamic Properties of Generalized Heisenberg Models on the Triangular Lattice

The ground state configuration of generalized Heisenberg models, H=-[Σ_<<_ij>>J_<_xy>(S^x_iS^x_j+S^z_iS^z_i]; -∞<J_<xy>,J_z<∞ on the triangular lattice is investigated. Their thermodynamic properties are also studied by a harmonic approximation and by Monte Carlo simulation. In particular, reentrant phase transitions are found for the case J_z>0 and J_z/J_<xy>>-0.5. Successive phase transitions are also found for the case J_z<0 and -0.5<J_<xy></J_z<1.0. Including the pure ferromagnetic case, a general phase diagram is presented.
