• The soliton solution of the Kadomtsev-Petviashvili and two-dimensionalBoussinesq equations with cjuadratic and cubic nonlinearity is studied using theHirota bilinear method. It is shown that the forrruer has only a two-soliton solutionpropagating in parallel, but the latter has a two-soliton solution propagating indifferent directions under a certain condition. The Bicklund transformation for thelatter equation is also presented.
